The Job Description gives an outline of the main duties of the post and it is important that you demonstrate how you meet each aspect of the role.

Trustee
As a registered charity, St Peter & St James Charitable Trust is governed by a Board of Trustees. We are fortunate to have a very committed group of Trustees who bring a broad range of experience and fulfil a vital governance function in the running of our charity. However, they are also a very supportive team who are able to give back to their community through their service to the hospice.
Coming from a variety of relevant professional backgrounds, the Trustees are all volunteers and, attend a monthly Board Meeting or Workshop, as well as serving on one or more of the Trust’s sub-committees. There is also an expectation that trustees will help in promoting or representing the Trust at local fundraising events. They all share an enthusiasm and commitment to the hospice and the services that it provides for people who are approaching the end of their lives. Peter Boyse, Chairman of the Trustees said, “From the start I realised what a special, caring place St Peter & St James is and it has been very rewarding to be able to offer something to help advance the work done in support of all those who need our services.”
With some of our current Trustees due to retire at the AGM in October, we are seeking applications from people who live within the communities served by the hospice and who have the relevant experience and skills to meet our requirements on the Board. We are specifically seeking applications from people with Clinical (either medical or nursing); legal, financial, insurance or NHS Commissioning skills and experience.

We currently are looking for a night staff nurse to join our excellent clinical team. If you have experience of palliative care this would be an advantage, but comprehensive support is provided for all new staff.

Salary: £9.86 per hour (with NVQ 2 in catering) plus weekend enhancements
Can you prepare good wholesome, tasty food for our patients and their visitors? At the same time you need to cater for our patients different dietary needs and present food in an interesting and appealing way. This job is to provide cover for annual leave and sicknesss and as such is on a ‘zero hours’ basis. You must be able to work as part of a team and also be self sufficient in the kitchen area.
